More courts closed for disinfection: SC

MANILA – Courts in the city of Manila will be physically closed for the rest of the week for disinfection, the Supreme Court (SC) announced Wednesday.

In a statement, the SC said "all courts housed in the Manila City Hall, Ombudsman, and Masagana Building will be closed on March 18 and 19 for fogging and misting" but may be reached through their official hotline and email addresses.

The Manila courts joined a growing list of courthouses closing physically as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19.

Courts and offices at the Pasay City Hall of Justice are scheduled to be closed on March 19 for disinfection.

Earlier, all regional trial courts of Parañaque City were closed until March 21.

The Siniloan, Laguna Regional Trial Court Branches 33 and 166 and the Siniloan-Famy, Laguna Municipal Circuit Trial Court were also closed for disinfection on Wednesday.

Also scheduled to be closed for disinfection are the Justice Hall of La Trinidad Benguet, the San Jose del Monte, Bulacan Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) Branch 2 from March 18 to 31 while the Caloocan City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 52 is closed from March 17 to 24.

Since Tuesday, the Santiago City, Isabela RTC, the Antipolo City RTC Branch 71, the Hall of Justice of Lingayen, Pangasinan, and the San Fernando and Carcar City MTCC in Cebu were also closed. (PNA)
