MANILA – Former ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) veteran Jason Brickman will lead Meralco's charge in the Philippine Basketball Association's (PBA) 3x3 league.

Team manager Paolo Trillo confirmed the development on Friday.

"We’re looking forward to seeing his brand of basketball up close," Trillo said.

Brickman played for Mono Vampire and Alab Pilipinas in the ABL as the teams' primary point guard.

Before those stints, he played in Russia and Germany.

In college, the Long Island-Brooklyn alumnus was among the US NCAA's top point guards during his time.

"He’s a veteran playmaker who has proven himself internationally and we’re excited to have him on board," Trillo added.

The Fil-American playmaker initially declared for the PBA's 5-on-5 draft this year, but he was pulled out from the final list of aspirants after failing to secure the necessary documents to be cleared.

Still, Brickman would get to taste some PBA action this season as the Bolts signed him to a 3x3 deal.

The league is planning to hold its inaugural 3x3 conference in concurrence with the first conference of the 5-on-5 season, the Philippine Cup.

According to PBA 3x3 chairman Dickie Bachmann, games will be played every Friday and Saturday before the scheduled 5-on-5 games.

The league is eyeing a closed circuit Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo. (PNA)
