MANILA – The local government of Taytay on Saturday said vaccine confidence among its residents has increased since their rollout began while medical front-liners continue to avail of the Covid-19 jabs.

Mayor Joric Gacula said that based on talks with residents, the municipal health office's personnel noted more are willing to be vaccinated.

For the last two days, the number of residents who have shown interest in the vaccines reached 2,000, he said.

Taytay targets to inoculate about 90 percent of its 375,000 population. It has initially allocated PHP320 million for the vaccination campaign.

"Vaccination has begun at Taytay Doctors Hospital, Taytay Emergency Hospital, and Manila East Medical Center," Gacula reported on Facebook on Saturday.
