BUTUAN CITY – Authorities arrested a newly-identified drug personality during a law enforcement operation here on Monday, the chief of the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) said.
In a statement, BCPO chief, Col. Canilo A. Fuentes, said police officers enforced a court-ordered search on Julian Rodriguez and seized some five grams of shabu valued at PHP52,000 and other illegal drug paraphernalia.
Rodriguez, 42, a resident of Barangay Golden Ribbon here, was arrested by BCPO personnel and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Caraga Region (PDEA-13) operatives at his residence.
“The operation against the subject person was conducted by virtue of a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 1 in Butuan City,” Maj. Emerson L. Alipit, BCPO spokesperson, told the Philippine News Agency.
Alipit said the operation was witnessed by representatives of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the local officials of Barangay Golden Ribbon.
Alipit said the suspect would be facing criminal charges for the violations of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (PNA)
