MANILA – On-site work at the Department of Justice (DOJ) offices will resume Wednesday.
Starting March 24 until April 4, DOJ will operate at 30-percent capacity onsite, Secretary Menardo Guevarra said.
“The rest will continue to work from home. The notable rise in Covid cases in the department has apparently slowed down." Guevarra said in a message to newsmen.
DOJ spokesperson Undersecretary Emmeline Villar said that as of Monday, they had 45 active Covid-19 cases and one recovery.
"Majority of our cases are in home quarantine, being asymptomatic or mild cases. Eight are in quarantine facilities and two are in the hospital," she said.
The DOJ compound along Padre Faura Street in Manila is in the middle of two areas under granular lockdown.
However, national government offices, like the DOJ, are not covered by localized lockdowns. Employees must show their identification cards to gain entry.
“National government agencies take their cue from the Office of the President on the suspension of on-site work,” Guevarra earlier clarified.
In the case of the DOJ, he said they are continuously evaluating the situation and will seek clearance from the OP in case of work suspensions. (PNA)
