MANILA – The northeast monsoon (amihan) affecting northern Luzon will bring rains over parts of the island, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

In its latest forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said light rains will prevail over the Cagayan Valley and Cordillera regions, and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.

Isolated light rains, on the other hand, will be experienced over the Ilocos region and the rest of central Luzon.

The tail-end of a frontal system and the easterlies will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Caraga, Davao, and Bicol regions, as well as eastern and central Visayas.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Luzon and the eastern section of the Visayas will have moderate to strong winds.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
