MANILA – The Quezon City government is implementing a work-from-home arrangement this week.

The alternative work arrangement during the entire duration of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region Plus bubble was announced on the Facebook page of the city on Sunday.

QC’s Memorandum Circular No. 5 stated that “all departments, offices, task forces, and special operating units, except departments providing healthcare and emergency frontline services, border control, and other essential services, are directed to implement a work-from-home arrangement starting Holy Monday, March 29, until Easter Sunday, April 4, unless further extended.”

The city government said coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections in the city continue to increase and hospitals have reached full capacity.

Medical front-liners are exhausted, thus the call for residents to stay home as much as possible.

“Please stay home. Always follow minimum health protocols like frequent washing of hands, observe safe physical distancing even at home, and keep windows and doors open for proper air circulation,” the post read.

QC has 7,978 active Covid-19 cases as of Sunday. Recoveries are at 36,147 out of 45,019 confirmed cases. (PNA)
