MANILA – Courts nationwide will observe a half-day schedule, or until noon, on Holy Wednesday.
Pursuant to the Supreme Court calendar for 2021, all courts nationwide shall observe a half-day (until noon) work scheduled on Wednesday, March 31, 2021," the notice released Monday and signed by Acting Chief Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe read.
Last week, the SC also ordered the physical closure on March 25 and 26 of courts in the National Capital Region, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, and Laguna in view of the rising cases of Covid-19 in the so-called NCR Plus.
Although physically closed, court offices remained accessible to the public and court users through their hotlines and email addresses.
Hearings were likewise suspended, except on urgent matters such as motions and pleadings in relation to bail and habeas corpus, promulgation of judgments of acquittals, reliefs for those who may be arrested and detained, and other related actions. (PNA)
