SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – The Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) will soon launch the Family Development Session (FDS) on Air in the province of Antique.
In an interview on Tuesday, 4Ps-Antique provincial coordinator, Jeffrey Gabucay, said they hope to start the FDS on Air by next month.
“We are tapping other means of delivering the FDS during this pandemic and that would be having a once-a-month radio program in Antique,” Gabucay said.
He added that the FDS, a component of the 4Ps program to instill responsible parenting and other values formation among its beneficiaries, would be tackled by Pantawid workers hosting the program in the local dialect of Antiqueños.
“We have (the) FDS module, which will be translated in the local dialect to make it understandable to our beneficiaries,” he said.
Gabucay said as of now, they have yet to identify the radio station that would air the program because they are still canvassing which stations to partner with.
Meanwhile, he said they have tentatively scheduled the other graduation of 4Ps household beneficiaries in Antique as they wait for confirmation of the local government units (LGUs).
“There are six LGUs that have already tentative schedules of graduation by the 4Ps,” Gabucay said.
These are Sebaste with 40 household graduates, Pandan with 46, and Caluya with 28, all tentatively on April 12.
The other LGUs are Laua-an with 42 household graduates on April 13, Belison with 12 on April 18, and Barbaza with 43 on April 20.
“We still have no tentative schedule for the other LGUs,” he said.
On March 25, a simple graduation ceremony was held for 32 households in Anini-y town, the first graduates of the program in Western Visayas.
“These households who will be graduating are those that have no more child for monitoring,” he said.
The households graduate or exit from the program if their children have already finished their studies in senior high school or are already above 19 years old and are no longer covered by the program, Gabucay added. (PNA)
