MANILA – The Quezon City government announced on Tuesday that its coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccination schedule is already fully booked until Saturday, April 17, pending the arrival of more vaccine supplies from the Department of Health.

Supply is limited, the local government announced on its Facebook page, and advised residents who have already registered and received approval to always check if additional slots will be opened until Saturday.

“Importante po na mag-book lamang kung kayo ay kabilang sa priority groups A1 o medical frontliners, A2 senior citizens at A3 persons with comorbidities o may sakit gaya ng diabetes, sakit sa puso, cancer, hypertension etc, na ating binabakunahan sa ngayon (It is important that those who will book for appointments are only those in the priority groups like A1 or the medical frontliners, A2 or the senior citizens and A3 or persons with comorbidities, like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, hypertension, etc.),” the post read.

As of Tuesday, QC has already vaccinated 95,601 individuals from the A1 to A3 lists.

Retail giant SM Supermalls, meanwhile, joined the vaccination rollout of the city by assembling a team of doctors and nurses to help inoculate A2 and A3 recipients.

“The city has had numerous partnerships with the private sector throughout the pandemic and we’re glad to be working with them still as we vaccinate our residents and immunize them against Covid,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said in a news release.

SM’s medical team will also give the shots to qualified employees who reside in QC, provided that it will be supervised by the City Health Department.

On Monday, the vaccination site at the Skydome of SM City North Edsa opened, along with six others at Balingasa High School, Commonwealth Elementary School, Quirino Elementary School, Diosdado Macapagal Elementary School, Lagro High School, and New Era Elementary School.

The city is also currently in talks with other private sector groups such as Robinsons Malls, Ayala Malls, Araneta City, Eastwood Mall, and the information technology and business process outsourcing sectors, all considered essential establishments. (PNA)
