MANILA – Volunteer group “Inday Sara Duterte Ako” (ISDA) honored ordinary Filipinos in simultaneous activities in time for the celebration of the 79th Araw ng Kagitingan on April 9.

Dubbed “Sharing and caring never stops, anytime, all the time!”, the simultaneous outreach activities benefitted around 5,000 persons, who the group also considers as modern-day heroes – the ordinary Filipinos, in various cities and municipalities in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Lawyer Jet Lim, ISDA Director for Mindanao, said the group’s spirit of volunteerism was extended in the provinces of Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Soccsksargen, Davao Del Sur, Samar-Leyte, and Cebu.

“In this present day, the real heroes of the Philippines are our fellow hardworking Filipinos who are tirelessly braving the days despite the threat of a pandemic, and the uncertainty we are all in,” Lim said.

The group’s Araw ng Kagitingan activities include the simultaneous feeding of the following: 300 children in the Yolanda Reclamation Site in Leyte; 500 internally displaced persons in Tulungatung, Zamboanga City; seniors citizens, children and their parents in Barangay Putik-East Coast, Zamboanga City; 300 children in Badjao Village, Bongao Tawi-Tawi; indigent families of Barangay Tongmageng, Sitangkai; a dozen families in Barangay Walled City, Jolo, Sulu; and families in Zamboanga Sibugay.
