ZAMBOANGA CITY – The city government will no longer require a negative result of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test to persons fully vaccinated upon entering this city.
Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said Monday that a person is considered fully immunized two weeks after receiving the second dose of vaccine and that “there is no more need for them to undergo RT-PCR test”.
However, Miravite said that those fully vaccinated persons exhibiting symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) will still be required to undergo an RT-PCR test even if they show their certificate of vaccination.
Four laboratories are currently offering RT-PCR tests--the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC), Philippine Red Cross Molecular Laboratory, Department of Agriculture-ZCMC laboratory, and the containerized RT-PCR testing laboratory of the Ciudad Medical Zamboanga (CMZ).
RT-PCR test is the standard laboratory testing for Covid-19, which is priced at some P3,000.
Miravite said some 3,019 medical front-liners in the A1 category have already received their second dose of either Sinovac or AstraZeneca. (PNA)
