CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Two drug suspects were neutralized while another was arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted by Bulacan police early Tuesday morning.

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan provincial director, identified the slain suspects as Danilo "Danny" Pineda Paiste and Raffy Aniag Reyes, both residents of Barangay Lambakin, Marilao, Bulacan.

Based on the police report, a buy-bust operation against Paiste was conducted by operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Marilao Municipal Police Station in the said village at around 12:02 a.m.

“During the transaction, Paiste and his cohort sensed that they were transacting with a police officer that prompted them to pull out their respective guns and fired towards the police officers. At that instance, the police officers fired back, hitting the suspects that caused their deaths,” Cajipe said.

A team from the Bulacan Scene of the Crime Operation processed the crime scene and recovered two .38 caliber revolvers, 20 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, two cut-open plastic sachets containing marijuana fruiting tops, assorted identification cards, one gold plated ring, one wristwatch, a brown wallet, two units of portable weighing scale, buy-bust money, and drug paraphernalia.

Meanwhile, a separate buy-bust operation was conducted by the SDEU of Malolos City Police Station in Barangay Sumapang Matanda that resulted in the arrest of the suspect identified as Melvin Sarreal, a resident of Barangay Palimbang, Calumpit, Bulacan.

Recovered from his possession were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu and the buy-bust money.

A criminal complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is now being prepared for filing in court against the suspect. (PNA)
