MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday announced the arrest of two individuals for human trafficking in Pangasinan.

Operatives of the NBI-Dagupan District Office (NBI-DADO) nabbed Joseph P. Carrera and Gelyn C. Almenario during an entrapment on April 19, 2021, following tips that Citirock Spa on Arellano St. in Dagupan City was engaged in the exploitation of women for sexual activities in exchange for cash.

Director Eric Distor, NBI Officer-In-Charge, said the suspect used the spa as a front for its illegal activities, where fees between PHP1,000 and PHP1,500 are collected per customer.

NBI-DADO, headed by Agent in Charge Rizaldy Jaymalin, set up the entrapment, which also resulted in the rescue of four women.

The women were turned over to local office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. (PNA)
