Over 44K local, overseas jobs up for grabs in Labor Day

MANILA – Over 44,000 local and overseas jobs are up for grabs in the scheduled nationwide online job fair on May 1, Labor Day.

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) data showed that as of April 28, there is a total of 44,125 employment opportunities that will be available during the annual event.

It said there are 578 employers and 530 locals participating in the celebration.

Of the number of job vacancies, it said 36,951 are local employment while 7,174 are jobs abroad.

The National Capital Region (NCR) has so far recorded the highest number of job vacancies at 17,777 with 75 employers while the least number of available jobs being offered is in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) at 45 with 9 employers participating.

The top five local vacancies are production operator, factory worker; customer service representative; police officer; contact tracers; sewer; mason, carpenters; and rebarman.

Top industries are manufacturing, business processing outsourcing, government, textile, and construction.

For overseas, the five top employment opportunities are: nurse, factory worker, mechanic, nursing aide/healthcare assistance and cleaners.

The 119th Labor Day is observed with the theme, “Mayo Uno sa Bagong Panahon – Manggagawa at Mamamayan: Babangon, Susulong!” (PNA)
