199 patients recover from Covid-19 in Dinagat Islands

BUTUAN CITY – Dinagat Islands province has logged 199 recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of Monday, the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (PIATF) in the area said.

Included in the total recoveries are the four cases from the town of San Jose and two from Libjo who recovered on Monday as reported by the Provincial Care and Containment Center (PCCC) of the province.

The island-province has recorded a total of 279 Covid-19 cases since the first case was recorded in the area on August 22, 2020.

Dinagat Islands currently has 79 remaining active cases, and one reported Covid-19 related death.

Most of the active cases are recorded in the towns of San Jose with 32; Basilisa, 23; and Cagdianao with 14.

“We continue to ask everyone to observe our health and safety protocols. Covi-19 is a real disease. Denying its existence is dangerous for you and the people around you,” the PIATF said in a statement.

The task force also urged the people in the island province for support in the continuing fight against the pandemic.

“Our communities are our frontlines against this pandemic and its effects on our everyday lives,” it said. (PNA)
