PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – The Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force on coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) has ordered the closure of beach resorts and entertainment establishments effective Monday, amid the rising cases of Covid-19 in this province.
The task force, through Executive Order No. 2021-13 signed by Gov. Vitor Yu, also implemented a liquor ban.
Included in the establishments ordered closed are halls, theaters, karaoke bars, night clubs, playgrounds, playrooms, kiddie rides, and cockpits.
However, the task force said that cockpits used for the sole purpose of conducting e-sabong licensed and regulated by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation are not covered from E.O. 2021-13.
The provincial IATF said establishments allowed to operate on limited capacity with strict compliance to health protocols include hotels and other accommodation establishments with valid Department of Tourism (DOT) accreditation.
Restaurants and eateries are allowed to operate up to 30 percent of venue or seating capacity.
Prohibited to go out of residences are individuals below 15 and over 65 years old, as well as those with immunodeficiency, comorbidity, or other health risks, and pregnant women, except for essential purpose or as allowed by provincial IATF.
As of Monday, Zamboanga del Sur reported 326 active cases, with Pagadian City having the highest number at 166. (PNA)
