MANILA – National Task Force (NTF) against Covid-19 Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. cited three parameters for a successful vaccination program in the Philippines.

The vaccine czar said there should be public acceptance of the vaccine, no wastage, and proper management of adverse effects.

"We have seen an enormous acceptance from our countrymen. They are eager to take it, so this means it’s already a success (in this aspect)," Galvez said in an interview Tuesday during the initial rollout of Sputnik V vaccines at Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City.

"I never thought that there would be an acceptance of many people despite some negative media reports about the vaccines. We are very thankful and glad," he added.

Galvez likewise thanked private partners, particularly mall owners, for relentlessly extending their support to the country's vaccination program.

He said setting up vaccination hubs in malls will be a convenient strategy to make sure the vaccination drive will go on even during the rainy season.

"We have already partnered with Ayala Malls, SM Groups, and Megaworld," he said. (PNA)
