MANILA – Two suspected drug dealers were killed in a buy-bust operation and seized from them some 22 kilograms of shabu in Pasig City Sunday night.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar identified one of the slain suspects as Arthur Adbul alias "Abdul", while the other suspect still remains unidentified as of writing.

Seized from the suspects were packs of shabu worth PHP149.6 million and one each of .45 and .380 caliber pistols.

Citing reports from PNP-Drug Enforcement Group director, Brig. Gen. Remus Medina, Eleazar said the operation took place around 9:10 p.m. along Axis Road, Barangay Kalawaan.

During the operation, the suspects found out they were dealing with law enforcers, prompting the firefight between the two sides. No member of the law enforcement teams was hurt during the operation.

In his report to Eleazar, Medina said the suspects are known distributors of Michael Lucas Abdul, who was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Dasmariñas City, Cavite last April 26.

"They get their supply of illegal drugs from a Muslim known as a.k.a 'Bating' who is also a bodegero of a certain Chinese national. They are both well-known drug proliferators in Region 3, NCR (National Capital Region) Region 4-A and other nearby provinces," Medina said in his report. (with Priam Nepomuceno/PNA)
