TACLOBAN CITY – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar has reiterated his call to the public to send complaints to their hotlines to help rid their organization of scalawags.

In a press briefing here late Tuesday, Eleazar said anyone can send complaints or concerns to the PNP via text hotlines, social media pages, email, or QR scanning method.

The PNP chief arrived here on Monday for a two-day visit.

With the advancement of technology, the public can now easily report crimes and abusive police personnel through the newly-launched enhanced complaint referral and monitoring system dubbed as “E-Sumbong”.

“This is how an ordinary Filipino can file his or her complaints if one may encounter corrupt, inept, or abusive police officials but would not know what to do next,” Eleazar said at a press briefing here during the conclusion of his two-day visit in Eastern Visayas.

Eleazar said they are strengthening the platform to end the problem of rotten eggs in the PNP organization following the recent killings of innocent civilians involving police officers as suspects.

Eleazar urged the public to report any complaint or concern on their community or even PNP personnel involved in any irregularities through its official SMS hotline -- 0919-160-1752 (Smart); 0917-847-5757 (Globe).

Information may also be forwarded to their email address: [email protected] or through social media -- facebook.com/OfficialPNPhotline and web portal (https://e-sumbong. pnp. gov.ph)

The complaint will be acknowledged and will be given a reference number if the complaint warrants an investigation.

"I believe that if people will patronize and support the ‘e-sumbong’ program, it can help the police officers to improve their performance" Eleazar added.

Each complaint is checked manually by a designated PNP personnel and each valid report will be forwarded to the concerned police station or office for proper action.

Having full access to the system, the PNP chief can personally give directives to a police officer concerned should he find it necessary.

Eleazar said that this system brings the police and the victims closer and hence increasing the security. This makes the “E-Sumbong Mo, Aksyon Ko” system registration simple and easy hence making it time-efficient. (PNA)
