Bicol receives 23K doses of Sinovac

LEGAZPI CITY – The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) in the Bicol Region received on Tuesday some 23,000 doses of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccine.

In a report posted on social media on Wednesday, DOH-Bicol said the vaccine arrived at the Legazpi Domestic Airport on board a Cebu Pacific commercial flight from Manila at around 11:25 a.m.

These were immediately brought to the DOH storage facility for inventory and will be used for the inoculation of more health workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities.

The vaccine will be distributed to Camarines Norte (1,600 doses),  Camarines Sur (3,900 doses), Catanduanes (1,600 doses),  Sorsogon ( 2,200 doses), and Albay (13,700 doses).

The allocated doses for Albay include almost 10,000 for the remaining unvaccinated A1 priority group comprising medical front-liners.

Noemi Bron, Health Education and Promotion Officer of DOH CHD Bicol, said the distribution of the vaccines is scheduled as follows: Catanduanes Provincial Health Office (PHO), June 16; Camarines Sur PHO, Sorsogon PHO, Naga and Iriga City Health Offices (CHO), June 17; and Camarines Norte PHO, June 18.

As of the latest count, the region has received and distributed 206,580 doses of Covid-19 vaccine.  (PNA)
