Davao Region Covid-19 recovery tally hits 27K

DAVAO CITY – The Davao Region has recorded a total of 27,049 recoveries, as another 55 patients recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of Sunday.

In its latest Covid-19 bulletin, the Department of Health in Region 11 (DOH-11) said this is equivalent to a 73.2-percent recovery rate out of a total of 36,956 infections since the pandemic started last year.

Davao City has the most number of recoveries at 16,074, followed by Davao del Norte (4,959), Davao de Oro (1,938), Davao Oriental (1,914), Davao del Sur (1,817), and Davao Occidental (347).

Another 289 new infections were also reported, bringing the region's total number of active cases to 8,608.

Of the new cases, 128 are from Davao City, 81 from Davao del Norte, 36 from Davao de Oro, 28 from Davao del Sur, and 16 from Davao Oriental.

The new cases were reported as due to local transmission.

Seven new deaths were also reported -- three from Davao del Norte, two from Davao City, one from Davao Oriental, and one from Davao del Sur.

The DOH-11 also reported that only 9.6 percent of intensive care unit beds, 40.1 percent of isolation beds, 31.7 percent of ward beds, and 44.4 percent of mechanical ventilators are available. (PNA)
