MANILA – The national government turned over to Manila 22,800 doses of the Moderna vaccine on Tuesday night, part of the first shipment of 249,600 doses that arrived on Sunday.
The jabs are for overseas Filipino workers whose destinations include Moderna as among their accepted brands, according to a Facebook announcement.
The city government thanked Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, testing czar Vince Dizon, and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez for the jabs.
The vaccines were delivered to the Sta. Ana Hospital where the Manila Covid-19 storage facility is located.
The facility can handle Covid-19 vaccines that require temperatures of minus 80, minus 20, minus 30, plus 2, and plus 8 degrees Celsius.
The Moderna vaccine requires between minus 20 to minus 30 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
