MANILA – The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has deployed its food trucks to provide hot meals to residents of Batangas province affected by Taal Volcano which is on Alert Status level 3.

The food trucks will go around the affected cities in 10 days, capable of serving 300 individuals per day.

It is part of PRC's Welfare Services program “Hot Meals on Wheels” that provide ready-to-eat meals to people affected by disasters, calamities, and conflicts.

Kaagad natin ipinadala ang ating food truck upang makapaghatid ng pagkain sa mga apektado na nasa evacuation centers (We had to immediately dispatch our food trucks to feed people in evacuation centers),” PRC chair Senator Richard Gordon said in a news release on Friday.

Gordon also ordered the deployment of the PRC Batangas Chapter’s 6x6 vehicle and two ambulance units.
