DUMAGUETE CITY – The City Health Office (CHO) has vaccinated 13,698 eligible residents against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), with a total of 16,135 jabs administered for the first and second doses.
Of the total number of vaccinees, 1,726 are medical front-liners (A1 group); 5,724 are senior citizens (A2); 3,641 are persons with comorbidities (A3) and 2,607 are economic frontline personnel (A4), a media release from the city public information office said on Monday.
Individuals belonging to priority sectors A1 to A4 who have registered online are continuously being accommodated at two vaccination sites – the Robinsons Place shopping mall and the gymnasium in Barangay Pulantubig.
Meanwhile, based on a report from the City Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), the city has 178 active Covid-19 cases as of Sunday, July 11.
Of the active infections, 124 cases are being monitored by the personnel of the City Health Office; 22 are confined at the Silliman University Medical Center; four are admitted at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital; 11 at the ACE Dumaguete Doctors Hospital; six at Holy Child Hospital; one at the Negros Polymedic Hospital; two at the provincial designated isolation facility; six are presently outside of Dumaguete City while two are hospital workers in a separate accredited isolation facility.
This provincial capital of Negros Oriental has logged the highest number of positive Covid-19 cases over the past months since a surge started that led to almost a month of being placed under the more restrictive modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) since June 16. (PNA)
