LEGAZPI CITY – Some 2,400 doses of Sputnik V and 10,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines arrived on Tuesday at the Legazpi City Domestic Airport, the Department of Health (DOH) in Bicol said.
In a report posted on social media, DOH-Bicol said the vaccines were packed in nine boxes and arrived on board a Philippine Air Lines (PAL) commercial flight from Manila around 9 a.m.
"The deliveries of the Sputnik V have been allocated by the national government to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) and Legazpi City for 'pilot' rollout," the agency said.
Meanwhile, the Sinovac vaccine has been allocated as second doses for vaccinees in the provinces of Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Sorsogon, and the island provinces of Masbate and Catanduanes.
The vaccines were brought to the DOH-Bicol Cold Storage facility here for inventory.
The DOH vaccine rollout report as of July 8 indicated that the region has received a total of 294,380 doses, out of which 274,821 or 93 percent were administered to health workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities.
As of July 12, Bicol has 3,931 active cases of coronavirus.
At least 377 new recoveries were also recorded, as well as 15 new deaths. (PNA)
