The PNP has 218,442 cops nationwide.

As of Monday, there are still 1,309 active cases in the PNP out of a total 29,354 confirmed infections.

Forty-four recoveries brought the total number to 27,967 while the death toll is at 78.

PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar also ordered the ASCOTF to prepare for worst-case scenarios following the confirmation of cases of the Delta variant.

He specifically tasked Cruz to prepare all medical equipment and supplies for policemen.

Kasabay nito ang kautusan na tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng lahat ng pulis na naka-deploy sa frontline sa pamamagitan ng pag-alam at pagbibigay ng kanilang mga pangangailangan (I ordered that to ensure the safety of all policemen deployed on the frontlines, their needs should be met),” he said via video on Facebook.

Lt. Gen. Bong Dickson, the Joint Task Force Covid Shield commander, was likewise assigned to intensify engagement with local government units in implementing guidelines and to protect communities from the more contagious strain. (PNA)
