DOÑA REMEDIOS TRINIDAD, Bulacan – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office opened on Thursday its 19th Negosyo Center in this mountainous town as part of the continuing effort to assist micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) throughout the province flourish.

DTI Regional Director Leonila Baluyut, together with Doña Remedios Trinidad Mayor Marita Flores, DTI Bulacan Provincial Director Edna Dizon, and Bulacan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Vic Mendoza, led the formal opening of the Negosyo Center to bring government services closer to the people.

Dizon said the Negosyo Center aims to bring various government services to aspiring and budding entrepreneurs through business advisory services, training, business name registration assistance, and registration for Barangay Micro Business Enterprises.

“The opening of Negosyo Center in this mountainous town in the province of Bulacan is timely due to the growing tourism industry which has led to the opening of more businesses,” Dizon said in an interview.

Flores said tourist arrivals in Doña  Remedios Trinidad have risen by 80 percent to 85 percent since it reopened to tourists after successive community quarantines.

She said the Negosyo Center is a “big help” to further speed up the opening of the business in the municipality.

Republic Act 10644, or the Go Negosyo Act, promotes ease of doing business for MSMEs through a Negosyo Center.

It is a one-stop-shop for services where business owners can process their business registration and seek business advisory services, and provides business information, advocacy, monitoring, and evaluation of business process improvement.

Once a Negosyo Center is in place in a certain community, a local business person will no longer need to line up or go to the nearest DTI office to have his/her business registered and wait for days to complete the process. (PNA)
