CITY OF MALOLOS – One of two confirmed Covid-19 cases with the Delta variant in Bulacan has already recovered, the provincial government confirmed.

The asymptomatic Delta variant patient in San Ildefonso town has hurdled the disease while the other one in Santa Maria is in quarantine.

Governor Daniel Fernando said in a statement on Saturday that contact tracing is ongoing.

The Provincial Task Force on Covid-19 also strengthened the prevent-detect-isolate-treat-reintegrate strategy to prevent the further spread of Covid-19 and the more transmissible Delta variant.

“Follow the standard health protocols such as wearing of face masks and face shields, practicing of social distancing, and frequent washing of hands as those are proven effective ways to minimize the risk of getting any variant of the virus,” Fernando said.

As of Friday, Bulacan still has 1,687 active Covid-19 cases, 41,272 recoveries, and 938 deaths. (PNA)
