MANILA – About 500 officers and enlisted personnel of the Joint Task Force - National Capital Region (JTF-NCR) have been deployed to augment the National Capital Region Police Office's efforts to secure the region during the two-week enhanced community quarantine from August 6 to 20.

In a statement late Friday, Army Capt. Prad Adoptante, JTF-NCR public affairs officer, said these personnel have been deployed to various quarantine control points in the region’s border areas.

The JTF-NCR personnel, consisting of the Ground Task Group, Naval Task Group, and Air Task Group, were also deployed to several Inter-Agency Task Force quarantine facilities at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium and Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila and Solaire-Pagcor Mega Quarantine Facility in Parañaque to ensure strict adherence to protocols and proper monitoring of isolated individuals.

"Moreover, JTF-NCR, in coordination with MMDA (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) and DOTr (Department of Transportation), initiated its 'Libreng Sakay' operations along major routes of SM Fairview to Quezon Avenue via Commonwealth (vice versa); Gil Puyat LRT1 to Quezon Avenue via Taft Avenue and España (vice versa); and SM Masinag to Cubao MRT via Marcos Highway (vice versa), which are intended for Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR) affected by the lockdown," Adoptante said.

Aside from this, the JTF-NCR, through its 11th Civil Military Operations Battalion, conducts regular loudspeaker operations to help enforce ECQ regulations in various barangays within Metro Manila. (PNA)
