Nearly 400K vaccinated APORs get free train rides in 1 week

MANILA – A total of 389,155 free train rides have so far been given to vaccinated authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) in the National Capital Region (NCR), according to data released by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Tuesday.

In a Facebook post, the DOTr said the tally covered the period August 3 to 9 and was reached after 58,524 free rides on Monday -- Metro Rail Transit Line 3, 43,432; Light Rail Transit Line 2, 11,389; and Philippine National Railways, 3,703.

The program for APORs with one or two doses of the Covid-19 jab will run until Aug. 20 when the enhanced community quarantine in the NCR is supposed to end.

To avail of free rides, passengers are required to provide proof of their APOR and vaccination status. (PNA)
