CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 10 (Northern Mindanao) has extended the encoding of profiles of cash aid beneficiaries who are affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), after about 90,000 names in the initial list needed to be updated.

In an interview Tuesday, Oliver Inodeo, the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) information officer, said the staff of the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) of the local government found a discrepancy that needed to be corrected.

The move was in response to the complaint of some households that they received only PHP1,000 when they have four or more members, entitling them to receive PHP4,000 under Joint Circular Memo 2, series of 2021.

"There were lists in the barangays where only the heads of households were only encoded, and they did not include the members of their families. So it is necessary that they will bring this up to the grievance committee in the barangay, or inform the CSWD for proper action," Inodeo said.

All 4Ps beneficiaries and recipients of the unconditional cash transfer program will receive the special cash aid for those affected by the ECQ, he said, noting that their profiles need not be updated as these have been recorded.

Additional food packs

Meanwhile, various regional DSWD offices have combined their resources to augment food assistance to residents of this city and Gingoog City.

As of August 9, the Visayas Disaster Resource Center added 5,000 family food packs while the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau added 6,700, which were directly delivered to Cagayan de Oro City.

An additional 3,300 family food packs are expected to be delivered within the week.

As of August 8, cash aid recipients from the 25 barangays of Gingoog City and 17 barangays of this city have received their money. (PNA)
