BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) clarified on Friday that the showing of the zombie-themed movie, World War Z, at the Bataan People's Center which serves as a major coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination center in the province was unintentional.

“Part ng Netflix. Sunod-sunod pinapalabas. So, nahagip yung movie but not intentional (That was part of Netflix shows. The showing was done in series. So, it was shown but not intentional),” PHO chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan said in a text message.

This came as netizens described as "questionable" and "hilarious" the showing of the movie, which stars Brad Pitt who portrayed the role of a former United Nations employee who is fighting a zombie virus pandemic.

However, a glimpse at the giant monitor near the post-vaccination area on Friday showed film clips of ongoing activities in the province as explained by provincial officials led by 2nd district Rep. Jose Enrique Garcia III, Gov. Albert Garcia, and others.

Buccahan asked netizens to see more of the meaningful activities going on in Bataan despite the pandemic because, she said, of the governor’s desire for the province to ensure population protection at the earliest time.

Aside from 24 vaccination sites, the province has launched vaccination on wheels that serves even the farthest and remote villages.

The vaccination on wheels also served in the inoculation of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

Buccahan led a team who donned yellow shirts during the vaccination for the PDLs not to feel discriminated against.

The vax on wheels has also gone to the upland sitio in Bangkal, Abucay and sitios Kinaragan and Mamala in Limay for the vaccination of the Aeta natives and other highlanders.

“No bridges or barriers can hinder our vax on wheels team in reaching remote communities,” Buccahan said.

On Friday, the team was at the Aeta village of Tipo in Hermosa.

Buccahan said inoculation against Covid-19 is going on for priority groups A1 to A5 with 229,488 vaccinated with the first dose and 125,284 fully vaccinated, including 43,404 with the single-dose Janssen. (PNA)
