LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Some 1,391 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the province of Pangasinan have been fully vaccinated from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of September 6.

In an interview on Tuesday, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) information officer, Maj. Arturo Melchor Jr., said some 1,579 police personnel in the province received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“Some of us were accommodated by the local government units, some were immunized through the PPPO, while still others through the provincial government of Pangasinan depending on the availability of the supply of vaccines,” he said.

There are 103 personnel not yet vaccinated due to pregnancy, allergy, or have recently recovered from Covid-19, he added.

Meanwhile, the PPPO has recorded 485 recoveries from Covid-19 out of the 624 total cases among police personnel in the province with one death logged.

Melchor said the 138 active cases are in the hospitals or in quarantine facilities.

“Despite the infection among police personnel, the manpower is still enough to carry out our duties and responsibilities,” he added. (PNA)
