CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – Authorities are tracking down the suspects who killed two anti-drug personnel here on Friday night.

Col. Rhoderick Campo, provincial director of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office, said on Saturday they are now looking into the case to ensure that justice will be served to the families of Staff Sgts. Allan Capinpin and Aries Dichoso, both assigned at the Drug Enforcement Unit of Cabanatuan City Police Station.

Investigation showed that the two cops were killed by still unidentified motorcycle-riding men inside one of the victims’ house in Barangay Magsaysay Sur at about 10:30 p.m.

Campo said the two police officers were planning a follow-up on their “successful operation” on Thursday when the two suspects arrived and shot them using "short firearms," police said.

Police said the duo earlier led a buy-bust that resulted in the confiscation of PHP652,800 worth of shabu and the arrest of three suspects in the village of Sangitan West.

“We will assure the families of the victims that we will leave no stone unturned to give justice to them. We will never be getting tired of weeding our communities of lawless elements,” Campo said. (PNA)
