MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan – Two pilots were injured when a two-seater Cessna 152 aircraft crashed at a vacant lot in Barangay Agnaya in Plaridel town, this province on Friday.

Lt. Col. Jesus Manalo, Plaridel police chief, said the aircraft owned by Precision Flight Control Philippines located in Barangay Lumangbayan of the town, was flown by Capt. Paul Jemuel C. Gayanes and his co-pilot Lebon Eisen G. Sandoval, both 26 years old.

Manalo said the plane took off at Plaridel Airport heading south when it crashed at around 8:30 a.m. after one of its wings hit an acacia tree.

The victims did not suffer any serious injury but were rushed to the La Consolacion General Hospital also in Plaridel.

Members of the town's Bureau of Fire Protection and personnel of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines arrived at the crash site to investigate.

The Plaridel airport is basically used as an airstrip for various flying schools which train Filipino and foreign student pilots.

Cessna 152 is an American two-seat, fixed tricycle gear general aviation airplane, used primarily for flight training and personal use.

Its design was based on the Cessna 150, with a number of minor changes and a slightly more powerful engine running on 100 low lead (LL) aviation gasoline. (PNA)
