DAVAO CITY – The provincial government of Davao Occidental has tightened measures to curb further spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Governor Claude Bautista, in Executive Order No. (EO) 23 issued on Friday, said all government agencies and LGUs are enjoined to continue rendering assistance to and cooperation with each other and mobilize the necessary resources to undertake critical, urgent, and appropriate disaster response aid and measure in a timely manner to curtail and eliminate the threat of Covid-19.
“The implementation of the prevention, detection, isolation, treatment, and reintegration shall be the cornerstone of response to prevent further transmission and shall be a shared responsibility of the national government, local government units, private sector, and the public,” he said in the EO.
The province will observe a 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew and a liquor ban from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. and there will be "No Movement on Sundays".
“All non-residents, non-workers of Davao Occidental, Locally Stranded Individual (LSI), and Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF) must present a negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) results in the last 72 hours prior to entry,” the EO added.
All forms of public transport are suspended from Sept. 20 to 26. However, movement of cargoes is allowed.
The EO said all forms of gatherings are prohibited.
“Wake and burial will be attended by immediate family members only with a maximum of six days,” Bautista said in the EO.
The province strictly prohibits cockfighting. Bautista also stressed the mandatory wearing of face masks and face shields when going out in public as masks with vents should not be used.
“Physical distancing of one to two meters apart among Individuals shall be practiced at all times,” the EO added.
The order shall take effect on September 20, 2021, and shall remain effective until further amended. (PNA)
