Total Covid-19 recoveries in Davao Region now at 63.3K

DAVAO CITY – The Davao Region has so far recorded a total of 63,383 recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), according to the Department of Health (DOH) 11.

A regional situation update released Sunday night said the number is 73 percent of the 86,774 cases logged since the pandemic was declared in March last year.

DOH-11 said this city has the most number of recovered patients at 35,530, followed by Davao del Norte (11,375), Davao Oriental (5,652), Davao del Sur (4,699), Davao de Oro (4,517), and Davao Occidental (1,610).

There were 399 single-day recoveries reported on Sunday. They are from Davao City, 309; Davao del Sur, 61; Davao Oriental, 88 and Davao de Oro, two.

However, there are 721 new Covid-19 cases in the region, bringing the total number of active infections to 19,260, the health agency said.

Of these new cases, 385 are from Davao City, 34 from Davao de Oro, 159 from Davao del Norte, 72 from Davao del Sur, 42 from Davao Occidental, and 29 from Davao Oriental.

All the new cases were reported as local transmissions.

Meanwhile, 11 new deaths were recorded – four from Davao City, one from Davao del Norte, two from Davao de Oro, and four from Davao Oriental.

With the current Covid-19 caseload, the DOH-11 said the region only has 22.5 percent available intensive care unit beds, 36.9 percent available isolation beds, 20.1 percent available ward beds, and 60.3 percent available mechanical ventilators. (PNA)
