Zamboanga Peninsula logs 115 new Covid-19 recoveries

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Department of Health in Zamboanga Peninsula (DOH-9) reported Wednesday 115 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the region.

The DOH-9 data showed that with the new recoveries, the total recovered cases in the region increased to a total of 26,681 representing a recovery rate of 77.47 percent.

The city of Zamboanga logged the highest recovered cases in the entire region with 12,273 recoveries, based on DOH-9 data.

The recoveries in other parts of the region are as follows: Zamboanga del Sur, 6,187; Zamboanga del Norte, 5,302; Zamboanga Sibugay, 2,151; and Isabela City, 768.

The province of Zamboanga del Sur has the highest active cases in the region with 3,385, followed by the province of Zamboanga del Norte with 1,093.

The active cases in the other parts of the region based on DOH-9 data are the following: Zamboanga City, 1,006; Zamboanga Sibugay 913; and, Isabela City, 17.

The death toll in the region is now at 1,336 deaths with the following breakdown: Zamboanga City, 657; Zamboanga del Sur, 279; Zamboanga del Norte, 228; Zamboanga Sibugay, 148; and, Isabela City, 24.

Though having the highest number of recoveries, Zamboanga City also has the highest confirmed cases with 13,936.

The confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the other parts of the region are the following: Zamboanga del Sur, 9,851; Zamboanga del Norte, 6,623; Zamboanga Sibugay, 3,212; and, Isabela City, 24.

The DOH-9 reported Wednesday that the region has 34,431 total confirmed cases with 26,681 recoveries, 6,414 active cases, and 1,336 deaths. (PNA)
