CA OKs nomination, promotion of 32 AFP officers

MANILA – The Commission on Appointments (CA) has confirmed the ad interim appointments and gave its consent to the promotion of 32 generals, senior and reservist officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during a hearing at the Senate, Pasay City on Wednesday.

“Your promotion is a manifestation of your hard work and dedication as military officers. May you always be reminded of our crucial responsibility to protect the people and the state,” said AFP chief, Lt. Gen. Jose Faustino in a statement Thursday.

Confirmed were the ad interim appointments of Rear Admiral Danilo G. Fuentes, Maj. Gen. Ariel Francisco A. Felicidario III, Brig. Gen. Ferdinand Razalan, Brig. Gen. Julius A. Tomines and Commodore John R. Garaña.

The CA likewise approved the nomination to Brigadier General of Army Colonels Jaime A. Abawag Jr. and Florante P. Sison. Brig. Gen. Edward L. Libago’s nomination to Major General was also approved.

Also confirmed were the ad interim appointments of 11 Philippine Army (PA) colonels; four Philippine Navy (PN) captains; two Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) colonels and four Philippine Air Force (PAF) colonels.

Three reservists from the PAF, PN, and the Medical Corps (MC) were confirmed as well.
