MANILA – The Philippines has already administered 43,088,582 doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines since the start of the national vaccination program in March.
The National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 reported on Friday that as of September 23, a total of 23,416,857 Filipinos are waiting to complete their full doses while 18,771,725 are already fully vaccinated, including the one-dose Johnson&Johnson jab.
Data showed that of the total fully vaccinated individuals nationwide, 2,223,434 are health care workers (A1); 432,498, senior citizens (A2); 6,233,256 adults with comorbidities (A3); 5,165,883, essential front-liners (A4); and 1,720,654, indigents (A5).
Among the first-dose recipients are 2,529,340 from A1; 3,519,044, A2; 5,836,223, A3; 8,833,357, A4; and 2,698,893, A5.
On Thursday alone, the government utilized 417,420 doses -- 117,401 first shots and 300,019 second doses.
The average daily jabs administered in the last seven days slightly decreased to 367,105 doses, compared to 488,457 jabs during the previous week.
The Philippines has so far received 66,699,340 doses – procured, donated, and from the COVAX Facility.
The NTF also wants to raise its target vaccination coverage from 70 percent to 90 percent of the country’s eligible population. (PNA)
