MANILA – A total of 9,088 individuals have recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Friday, bringing the total recoveries to 2,240,599 or 91.3 percent of all known infections in the country.
In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH also reported 18,659 new cases of Covid-19, with the number of active cases now at 175,324.
Of these active cases, it said the majority at 88.1 percent have mild symptoms, followed by the asymptomatic at 6.9 percent, those with moderate symptoms at 2.84 percent, those with severe symptoms at 1.5 percent, and those in critical condition at 0.7 percent.
No new deaths were recorded, with the country’s current mortality against Covid-19 remaining at 37,405 or 1.52 percent of all known cases.
Based on the latest data on Covid-19 testing, 76,624 tests were administered on Wednesday and 24.2 percent returning positive for the disease.
Meanwhile, the occupancy rate of health care facilities around the country is improving.
Some 77 percent of the country’s 4,400 beds at intensive care units (ICU) are currently occupied from Thursday’s 79 percent, 65 percent of 21,200 isolation beds occupied from 66 percent, 70 percent of 16,000 ward beds occupied from 72 percent, and 55 percent of 3,300 ventilators are in use from 56 percent.
In Metro Manila, 76 percent of 1,600 isolation beds are occupied compared to Thursday’s 80 percent, 57 percent of 4,800 isolation beds occupied from 60 percent, 68 percent of 4,500 ward beds occupied from 72 percent, and 60 percent of 1,100 ventilators are in use from 62 percent. (PNA)
