ZAMBOANGA CITY – A total of 121,203 individuals have been fully vaccinated here since the vaccination program against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) was rolled out in March.

The number represents 17.43 percent of the target population of 694,606, according to the data the City Health Office released Saturday.

“We urge everyone to submit themselves and complete their vaccination to attain added protection against the virus,” Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said in a statement.

The data showed that adults with comorbidities, or those under the A3 priority group, registered the highest tally at 53,346, followed by senior citizens (A2) at 29,906; medical front-liners (A1), 14,856; economic workers (A4), 20,974; and the indigent population (A5), 2,021.

Data also revealed that 177,948, or 25.61 percent of the target, have the first dose, with the A4 priority group topping the list with 60,602.

Overall, 439,623 individuals are fully vaccinated in the region as of September 22, or 23.03 percent of the eligible population of 1,908,657, while 453,445 have their first dose.

Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, Janssen, and Sputnik V vaccines have been rolled out here.

Except for AstraZeneca that was procured by the city government, all other vaccines were either donations from the COVAX Facility or purchased by private companies.

On Saturday, the Zamboanga Peninsula received another 65,430 doses for an overall 2,652,170 count.

Assistant Regional Director Dr. Augusto Manolo Alpichi of the Department of Health said in a statement that the delivery is the 34th batch of jabs supply, consisting of 30,920 doses of Sinovac; 19,300, AstraZeneca; and 15,210, Pfizer.

The AstraZeneca jabs are for this city while the rest will be distributed in the region.

As of Thursday, the city still has 1,294 active Covid-19 cases, 58.9 percent of them asymptomatic. (PNA)
