DAVAO CITY – Members of the Duterte family "gathered" via video chat Monday night to wish for the fast recovery of Davao City First District Rep. Paolo "Pulong" Duterte, who got hospitalized due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Mayor Sara Z. Duterte shared a screenshot of the video chat between her, her husband Mans Carpio, her brothers Paolo and Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte, and their mother Elizabeth Zimmerman.

“When someone is positive in our family, we do video calls to say goodbye to the sick person because we don't know what will happen because Covid-19 is deadly,” Mayor Sara said in her post.

On Monday (September 27), Rep. Paolo confirmed that he has contracted the virus and currently under hospital isolation.

It can be recalled that Vice Mayor Sebastian had also become positive for the virus in July.

Mayo Sara said the entire family prayed for Paolo's fast recovery.

“We prayed last night that Covid would not harvest Cong, Pulong and if the Lord did take him, he will then pray for us if he enters the kingdom of God,” Duterte jokingly said.

She also reminded the public to be careful and always wear a face mask to protect them from the virus. (PNA)
