MANILA – The Supreme Court (SC) will remain open with limited operational capacity beginning October 1, as part of efforts to limit personnel to exposure and the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, in Memorandum No. 93, series of 2021 issued on Thursday, said they will keep the operational capacity at a maximum of 15 percent in all offices of the SC. The Court will also maintain its policy of "no personal filing" in the tribunal.
"Notwithstanding any modification of the alert levels guidelines in Metro Manila, the operational capacity of the offices/services in the Supreme Court beginning October 1 shall remain at not exceeding fifteen percent consisting of only the absolutely essential staff," Gesmundo said.
"The no personal filing policy shall be observed and the guidelines contained therein are hereby reiterated and maintained," he added.
Gesmundo reiterated that those who will physically report, on a rotation basis to SC offices, shall be determined by the respective chiefs of offices/services.
"Their individual health condition will be thoroughly checked upon entering the Court's premises. They must not have even the slightest coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) symptoms. In the event that those assigned to physically report reside in areas placed under a granular lockdown or micro-level quarantine, they shall be replaced by those residing in areas with lower alert levels," he added.
