MANILA – The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said it is moving closer to fully vaccinating all of its personnel against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Citing the latest data as of Tuesday, NCRPO chief, Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said 22,384 or 97.13 percent of its personnel have been fully vaccinated, while 475 or 2.04 percent have received their first dose.

"This data of NCRPO is close to its vision of a 100 percent vaccination standard among its men, if not for those who were unable to get the vaccine of only about 192 or 0.83 percent due to medical conditions and other reasonable circumstances," he added.

Danao also said breakthrough infections among NCRPO personnel are very low compared to those who are unvaccinated.

"Of the 22,394 personnel, only 206 or 0.95 percent contracted the virus. While 14 or 2.95 percent out of the 469 who are on their first dosage and eight or 0.82 percent with complete dosage," he added.

Meanwhile, 95 or almost half of the 192 unvaccinated personnel were infected with Covid-19.

"We enjoin everyone to keep your faith and trust in our government and healthcare system in order for us to conquer the hurdles brought by this pandemic. These vaccines remain to be our last hope to finally get ourselves and our children back to the normal way of life prior to this crisis," Danao said. (with Priam Nepomuceno/PNA)
