SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Antique provincial office is encouraging consumers to avail of their “Diskwento Promo” as part of the Consumer Welfare Month celebration that will run until October 31.

Glen Fernando, Trade and Industry Development Specialist of DTI Antique, said in an interview Friday that 14 participating exhibitors or establishments are selling basic commodities at discounted prices at the Dalipe Tradetown here.

“The Diskwento Promo is part of the Consumer Welfare Month celebration this October,” he said.

The exhibitors offer a maximum of 10 percent discount on their regular price, and other items on a buy 1 take 1 promo.

Premium packs sold include a kilo of spaghetti noodles with sauce, which is cheaper when sold separately.

Fernando said other necessities such as milk, coffee, noodles, soap, biscuits, soft drinks, and fabric softeners are also sold at the Diskwento Promo.

“With the three-day activity, we are making sure that the consumers as well as the establishment representatives are strictly observing the safe physical distancing and other health protocol,” he said.

Tents have been set up in an open space at the Dalipe Tradetown for the exhibitors to sell and display their goods to ensure physical distancing.

Members of barangay tanod (village security) were also requested to ensure there will be no mass gathering. (PNA)
