ZAMBOANGA CITY – The province of Tawi-Tawi, effective November 1, will no longer require all fully vaccinated inbound passengers to present a negative reverse transcription - polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result.

Instead, they will be required to present their genuine coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination card, Tawi-Tawi Inter-Agency Task Force focal person Mobin Nuruddin Gampal said Friday.

Gampal said in his advisory that inbound travelers who have only received their first dose will have to undergo a 10-day quarantine and get their second dose in Tawi-Tawi before they are allowed entry into the island province.

“Traveler(s) with falsified documents shall be dealt with accordingly and will undergo 14 days quarantine in the local government unit quarantine facility,” he said.

He said exempted from these requirements are children below 12 years old, provided they are traveling with fully vaccinated adults or adults with a negative RT-PCR test result.

As of October 28, Tawi-Tawi has recorded 183 total cases of Covid-19, with 166 recoveries and 17 deaths.

There are no new or active cases in the province, according to the Bangsamoro Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19. (PNA)
