MANILA – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, through her authorized representative, on Saturday filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for the position of vice president under Lakas-CMD Party.

She replaced Lyle Uy as the party’s candidate for the said position.

The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) earlier adopted Duterte of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) as the running mate of PFP’s standard-bearer Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for the May 9, 2022 national and local elections.

In a resolution signed on Saturday, the political party announced the adoption of the presidential daughter to be the party's vice presidential bet for next year’s polls.

“Resolved that vice presidential candidate Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio of the Lakas-CMD is hereby adopted by the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) as its candidate for vice president, and hereby endorses her candidacy as the running mate of the PFP’s official candidate for president of the Philippines Senator Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. in the 9 May 2022 national elections,” it said.

On October 5, Marcos assumed as chairman of the party by virtue of Resolution No. 1, Series of 2021.

Also being the head of the PFP, the former senator was given by the party full power and authority to choose his vice presidential running mate and senatorial lineup in the May 2022 elections. (PNA)
