MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday logged 1,547 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 2,818,511.
In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the agency said active cases also went down to 27,025.
Monday's new cases marked the fifth straight day the country has recorded below 2,000 infections.
Another 2,601 new recoveries were also recorded, pushing its total tally to 2,745,777.
Meanwhile, the death toll rose to 45,709 with 128 new deaths.
The new infections pushed the active cases to 27,025 with 61 percent listed as mild, 5.9 percent as asymptomatic, 4.6 percent as critical, 10.8 percent as severe, and 17.59 percent as moderate.
According to DOH data on Nov. 13, about 4.1 percent of 39,147 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.
"About 16 duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, 12 are recoveries. Moreover, 109 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it added.
All laboratories were operational on November 13 while three laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.
The DOH noted the three non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 0.7 percent of samples tested, and 0.3 percent of positive individuals based on data in the last 14 days.
To date, 35 percent of 3,800 intensive care unit beds, 28 percent of 20,600 isolation beds, 21 percent of 13,600 ward beds, and 22 percent of 3,300 ventilators are utilized by patients with Covid-19 nationwide.
Meanwhile, 30 percent of 1,300 intensive care unit beds, 26 percent of 4,800 isolation beds, 24 percent of 4,000 ward beds, and 23 percent of 1,000 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are in use in Metro Manila. (PNA)
